Tesla Charges Into Delhi: A First Look at the Aerocity Showroom
Tesla has made another strong move in India by opening its second showroom—this time in Delhi’s premium Aerocity area. Located within the Worldmark 3 complex, the new facility spans around 8,200 square feet and is strategically positioned near the airport, embassies, and corporate hubs. This marks a significant step in Tesla’s efforts to make its presence felt in the Indian market.
The Model Y Takes Center Stage
On display at the Delhi Experience Centre is the Tesla Model Y, which is available in two variants for the Indian market:
- Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) with a 60 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 500 km, priced at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Long Range RWD with a larger battery delivering 622 km, priced at ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both versions accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds—5.9 seconds for the RWD and 5.6 seconds for the Long Range—while reaching a top speed of 201 km/h.
Infrastructure That Powers the Future
The showroom is not just about showcasing cars; it’s also about performance and convenience. The basement parking area is equipped with four of Tesla’s latest V4 Superchargers, capable of delivering up to 250 kW and adding approximately 267 km of range in just 15 minutes. There are also four AC Destination Chargers for slower charging requirements.
Tesla plans to expand its charging network across Delhi NCR, including Saket and Noida, and to other major cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, and Chennai.
Booking, Delivery & Optional Features
- The Aerocity showroom is under a nine-year lease, with monthly rent starting at ₹17.22 lakh and set to increase by 15% every three years.
- Deliveries of the Model Y are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
- Tesla is also offering India’s first Full Self-Driving (FSD) package for an additional ₹6 lakh, though some features will depend on regulatory approval.
Why It Matters for India
- Increased visibility: The Delhi showroom puts Tesla’s latest EV offerings within easy reach of a major urban audience.
- Strengthened infrastructure: The presence of fast-charging stations helps tackle one of the main challenges of EV adoption.
- Clear market intent: Launching with the flagship Model Y shows Tesla’s commitment to the Indian market.
